7:45am: I began my solo hike up the Merritt Traverse. Temperatures were nearing 5 degrees with little to no winds on a beautiful sunny day.
8:45am: I reached sub-alpine territory and switched into my Scarpas. Hiking poles would have been an asset but I had packed as light as possible.
9:22am: I merged onto the Kosciuszko Summit Walk trail. The winds picked up drastically at this point (approx. 1900m). Winds were reaching 50km/h in exposed sections.
11:01am: I reached Rawson Pass (2100m). Approximately 20 minutes to the summit from here.
11:31am: I successfully reached the summit.
2:30pm: I returned to the Merritt Traverse trailhead.
